Now playing… Katie & Ryan!

For this session, Katie and Ryan wanted to have a fun “theme”… after thinking about it, and what would represent them as a couple, they decided on a movie theater theme. They LOVE movies (as do my fiance and I) and thought that it would be fun. Personally, I loved the idea, I even found the cute popcorn tub at the dollar store to add to the “movie” feel.  Downtown Plymouth was the perfect place for Ryan and Katie! With the Penn theater, and so many fun alley ways and buildings, the time flew by. (and thankfully, so did the rain clouds!)

We will be photographing their wedding next August (congrats, guys!) and this was the perfect time to get to know them as a couple. It’s always a joy to see couples that are so in love, I don’t think I could count on my fingers the number of times I told them they were naturals at this. They are such a beautiful couple, and just had fun together. Ryan was so patient, and he loved the popcorn 😉

Enjoy the sneak peak of Ryan and Katie! In “theaters” August 13, 2011. 😀

A flooded fairy tale

So, this weekend brought a ton of storms, right? And tornado’s sweeping through nearby cities… Which, is not ideal for photographing a family outside. Sunday brought nice weather, but, the 4-5 inches of rain gathered over the weekend was still lingering in nearby parks. Below is one of the parks we were supposed to go to (Curtis Park in Saline.)

YIKES! I didn’t think the kids brought their swimsuits, so we ended up going to a school nearby, and a couple of scenic landmarks in Saline, and they turned out better than the “park pictures”.  Here are some of the photos from the day. Such a beautiful family with 3 great boys… they are going to have their hands full when they reach Middle & high school, they are all so handsome! 😉  Enjoy!!

Generations of love

This has been a BUSY weekend for photo shoots! I am not complaining though, I love my job! What other job is there that people smile at you all day?! 😀 The Hopwood family holds a special place in me heart, because I have been photographing them since (Hunter, the oldest) was one! They are such a great family, and this time, Jen brought her parents to get some photographs taken with the kids! The more the merrier. We had beautiful weather, and I am glad we did this shoot Saturday and not Sunday, because this park flooded completely and is still closed because of the awful storms we had over the weekend.

More pics from the weekend to come, enjoy this family, I always have fun with them, espeically when Hunter see’s me and gets that huge grin on his face and says “DAYYYNAAA!”

Another one of God’s little miracles

Congrats to Shannon & Shawn! Proud parents of a beautiful little baby boy, Lukas. It all started last night when Matt and I went over to play games, and hang out one last time before they welcomed their new addition into the family. After playing a game of Cranium, Shannon’s water broke!! 🙂 I’m so glad we were able to share this special time with them… but it didn’t stop there! There was a TORNADO warning, not the ideal circumstance when your water breaks! haha, but, the Lord protected them then, and through the process and this was the result…

Shannon loves pictures, almost as much as me… (ALMOST!) so I knew she would love some professional photos to remember this special time. It was such a blessing to see Shawn and Shannon, and the way that the Lord lead them through it all. Shannon was beautiful (as always) and Shawn was a natural at being a daddy. The pictures barely do justice to what a precious little bundle of joy they welcomed today…enjoy another one of God’s little miracles, baby Lukas Ward!
