Lukas, at his young age, has taught me a very valuable lesson, that doctor’s don’t know everything, and thank God for that! Shannon and Shawn are really good friends of ours, so seeing them through the whole pregnancy was such an awesome journey! The faith they had was incredible, from the time the doctor’s told Shannon about the severe kidney stones that she had early in the pregnancy, to later on when spots were visible on Lukas’s brain that could be something serious, and THEN to the doctor’s saying that he may have an irregular heart. Shannon & Shawn decided not to have any additional tests taken, and to wait on the LORD for the healing that HE promises. HE formed Lukas to be perfect in the womb, and that is the promise that we all were clinging to. I remember specifically one Sunday morning in Church when the worship team started singing the song “Healer” which simply states that the Lord is capable to heal ANY disease, and He walks with us, hand in hand through it all. That Sunday morning, I went up to Shannon where her mom and family were standing around her with their hands on her belly, praying for a complete healing in baby Lukas. I truly believe he was healed right then.
Seeing Lukas only 6 hours after birth, he looked perfect, one of the most gorgeous babies I have seen, and I have seen a lot of babies in this career 🙂 They were going to run tests on Lukas in 48 hours, but we already trusted that the Lord had healed his brain and heart. Looking at him in Shannon’s arms, I knew that the Lord was working miracles in that hospital room. To make a long story short, when the test results came back, everything in Lukas was perfectly normal and perfectly healthy- just as the Lord created Him. Doctors know a lot, but in this case, not everything, they didn’t know the healing power of Our Creator!
These are pictures we took over the weekend at just 4 weeks old. Getting to know this little man has been a blast, and seeing how God’s hand has been upon Him since day one has been a blessing to many. Look at this baby- and try to tell me he’s not a miracle! 🙂
PRAISING JESUS for a complete healing :):)

FINALLY! Welcoming the newest addition to the DMP family, Maggie-Moo, the newest edition of the Mac Book Pro 🙂 Matt and I figured the closer it got to the wedding, the less likely we would want to be spending large amounts of money! lol, I’ve wanted a Mac for a long time now, and finally- after my LONG birthday week, I decided to take the plunge! Happy Birthday to me. It’s even more amazing than I thought! A whole new world for editing- and yes, I name my computers… Now I have Myrtle Mae and Maggie Moo!! This post if for all you Fathers out there – Happy Father’s Day! I have always been a Daddy’s girl, since I was young, but Father’s days haven’t always been easy for me. Now, I can look back, and thank the Lord for the 3 amazing “daddy’s” I have in my life. My biological daddy, my “Papa” (Matt’s dad, Marty), and the one whom my heart belongs to and always has, my Heavenly Daddy. No matter where, or what life has brought me through, I have always had a daddy to lean on, and always will.
I remember the happy times of childhood that I’ve come to cherish, when my dad was there, teaching me to ride a bike, taking me fishing, daddy-daughter dances, and strawberry picking. Then, things changed. This daddy’s girl had a hole in her heart where she missed the way things used to be. My daddy seemed to be so far away, that I became that way as well – always searching for someone to love me. This is when I found my Heavenly Father and realized the way HE loved me. I realized that HE would never leave me nor forsake me. HE loved me more than life itself, no matter what my earthly father said or did. HE is a Father to the fatherless! I found the “missing piece” and although I couldn’t go through a Father’s day sermon without balling my eyes out, I was still safe in daddy’s arms – my Heavenly Daddy’s Arms. I gave my broken heart to the Lord, holding on to the Promise that He can restore all things – in His perfect timing.
After years of serving the Lord, and leaning on Him for things I could not understand, He brought me into a relationship with my (now) Fiance, who will someday be a daddy to our children 😉
The story doesn’t stop there… After years of praying for my dad, we began to have a good relationship again. Months later he was diagnosed with an early onset of Alzheimer’s. Now, my dad has gave His heart to the Lord, and this is the 3rd Father’s day Sermon where he has been sitting right next to me in the pew. This morning, on our way to church, we were talking about “old memories” While he doesn’t remember anything bad that happened between us, or the years we went without talking, wouldn’t you believe that he could still tell me his favorite memory of us! It was the first time he taught me to ride a bike, not only did he remember it, but he remembered it in great detail. It brought tears to my eyes, knowing that the Lord was preparing me for this testimony all along. My dad has been a living miracle to me, and just another way to show that NOTHING is impossible with God – our Heavenly Father 🙂 I love you daddy’s!!
Me and my daddy- the good days, 1991.
Last father’s day, 2009. Strawberry picking one last time 🙂
My daddy and me today- Father’s day 2010.
My amazing Fiance, Matthew, My Papa Bear, me and My Daddy- Father’s Day 2010.
I love giving Papa Bear, Bear hugs- haha 🙂
My Heavenly Father, always there, even before I knew Him, He knew me. (Jeremiah 1:5 “Before you knew me… I formed you in your mother’s womb”)
A love letter from YOUR Father…
I am not distant and angry, but am the complete expression of love (1 John 4:16) And it is my desire to lavish my love on you (1 John 3:1) Simply because you are my child and I am your Father (1 John 3:1) I offer you more than your earthly father ever could (Matthew 7:11) For I am the perfect father (Matthew 5:48) Every good gift that you receive comes from my hand (James 1:17) THANK YOU JESUS, FOR BEING MY PERFECT FATHER!!!share:

For this session, Katie and Ryan wanted to have a fun “theme”… after thinking about it, and what would represent them as a couple, they decided on a movie theater theme. They LOVE movies (as do my fiance and I) and thought that it would be fun. Personally, I loved the idea, I even found the cute popcorn tub at the dollar store to add to the “movie” feel. Downtown Plymouth was the perfect place for Ryan and Katie! With the Penn theater, and so many fun alley ways and buildings, the time flew by. (and thankfully, so did the rain clouds!)
We will be photographing their wedding next August (congrats, guys!) and this was the perfect time to get to know them as a couple. It’s always a joy to see couples that are so in love, I don’t think I could count on my fingers the number of times I told them they were naturals at this. They are such a beautiful couple, and just had fun together. Ryan was so patient, and he loved the popcorn 😉
Enjoy the sneak peak of Ryan and Katie! In “theaters” August 13, 2011. 😀
