FINALLY! Welcoming the newest addition to the DMP family, Maggie-Moo, the newest edition of the Mac Book Pro 🙂 Matt and I figured the closer it got to the wedding, the less likely we would want to be spending large amounts of money! lol, I’ve wanted a Mac for a long time now, and finally- after my LONG birthday week, I decided to take the plunge! Happy Birthday to me. It’s even more amazing than I thought! A whole new world for editing- and yes, I name my computers… Now I have Myrtle Mae and Maggie Moo!! (And to think, I used to make fun of Matt for naming his computers… 🙂 )

blessings, dayna (and Maggie Moo!) 🙂

Safe in Daddy’s Arms

This post if for all you Fathers out there – Happy Father’s Day! I have always been a Daddy’s girl, since I was young, but Father’s days haven’t always been easy for me. Now, I can look back, and thank the Lord for the 3 amazing “daddy’s” I have in my life. My biological daddy, my “Papa” (Matt’s dad, Marty), and the one whom my heart belongs to and always has, my Heavenly Daddy. No matter where, or what life has brought me through, I have always had a daddy to lean on, and always will.

I remember the  happy times of childhood that I’ve come to cherish, when my dad was there, teaching me to ride a bike, taking me fishing,  daddy-daughter dances, and strawberry picking. Then, things changed. This daddy’s girl had a hole in her heart where she missed the way things used to be.  My daddy seemed to be so far away, that I became that way as well – always searching for someone to love me. This is when I found my Heavenly Father and realized the way HE loved me. I realized that HE would never leave me nor forsake me. HE loved me more than life itself, no matter what my earthly father said or did. HE is a Father to the fatherless! I found the “missing piece” and although I couldn’t go through a Father’s day sermon without balling my eyes out, I was still safe in daddy’s arms – my Heavenly Daddy’s Arms. I gave my broken heart to the Lord, holding on to the Promise that He can restore all things – in His perfect timing.

After years of serving the Lord, and leaning on Him for things I could not understand, He brought me into a relationship with my (now)  Fiance, who will someday be a daddy to our children 😉

The story doesn’t stop there… After years of praying for my dad, we began to have a good relationship again. Months later he was diagnosed with an early onset of Alzheimer’s. Now, my dad has gave His heart to the Lord, and this is the 3rd Father’s day Sermon where he has been sitting right next to me in the pew. This morning, on our way to church, we were talking about “old memories” While he doesn’t remember anything bad that happened between us, or the years we went without talking, wouldn’t you believe that he could still tell me his favorite memory of us! It was the first time he taught me to ride a bike, not only did he remember it, but he remembered it in great detail. It brought tears to my eyes, knowing that the Lord was preparing me for this testimony all along. My dad has been a living miracle to me, and just another way to show that NOTHING is impossible with God – our Heavenly Father 🙂 I love you daddy’s!!

My Heavenly Father, always there, even before I knew Him, He knew me. (Jeremiah 1:5  “Before you knew me… I formed you in your mother’s womb”)

A love letter from YOUR Father…

I am not distant and angry, but am the complete expression of love (1 John 4:16)  And it is my desire to lavish my love on you (1 John 3:1) Simply because you are my child and I am your Father (1 John 3:1) I offer you more than your earthly father ever could (Matthew 7:11) For I am the perfect father (Matthew 5:48) Every good gift that you receive comes from my hand (James 1:17) THANK YOU JESUS, FOR BEING MY PERFECT FATHER!!!

Now playing… Katie & Ryan!

For this session, Katie and Ryan wanted to have a fun “theme”… after thinking about it, and what would represent them as a couple, they decided on a movie theater theme. They LOVE movies (as do my fiance and I) and thought that it would be fun. Personally, I loved the idea, I even found the cute popcorn tub at the dollar store to add to the “movie” feel.  Downtown Plymouth was the perfect place for Ryan and Katie! With the Penn theater, and so many fun alley ways and buildings, the time flew by. (and thankfully, so did the rain clouds!)

We will be photographing their wedding next August (congrats, guys!) and this was the perfect time to get to know them as a couple. It’s always a joy to see couples that are so in love, I don’t think I could count on my fingers the number of times I told them they were naturals at this. They are such a beautiful couple, and just had fun together. Ryan was so patient, and he loved the popcorn 😉

Enjoy the sneak peak of Ryan and Katie! In “theaters” August 13, 2011. 😀

A flooded fairy tale

share: FacebooktwitterFacebooktwitter

So, this weekend brought a ton of storms, right? And tornado’s sweeping through nearby cities… Which, is not ideal for photographing a family outside. Sunday brought nice weather, but, the 4-5 inches of rain gathered over the weekend was still lingering in nearby parks. Below is one of the parks we were supposed to go to (Curtis Park in Saline.)

YIKES! I didn’t think the kids brought their swimsuits, so we ended up going to a school nearby, and a couple of scenic landmarks in Saline, and they turned out better than the “park pictures”.  Here are some of the photos from the day. Such a beautiful family with 3 great boys… they are going to have their hands full when they reach Middle & high school, they are all so handsome! 😉  Enjoy!!

blessings dayna

I love this one, I think the question here was “how many girlfriends do you have??” love the smiles :):)
