We were so excited to travel out to Holland for this beautiful  engagement session. College Sweethearts, Nicole and Ben are both in Med School, and she lives in Chicago- but we ended up back at the start of it all for their engagement session. They met at Hope college, and it was so cute hearing their sides of how they came to be “in love”…

“loong nights studying till 4 or 5 am” she laughed.. ” her confidence in how she fell for him, made him oh so comfortable in front of my camera- almost like we were not there, and it was just the two of them, where the first met, like they were reliving a first date They are absolutely perfect for each other, and so much fun! Matt and I traveled out there, and took advantage of the weekend by the lake and decided to camp for the first time as Mr & Mrs… and let’s just say, it’s not a good sign when you are camping and there are tornado warnings Luckily the weather cleared up later in the after noon (and our tent didn’t blow away) so we could capture this very special couple in the place where “they” found their happy ever after..

and Nicole introduced us to BOX WATER for the first time… wow! It’s awesome!

The past few weeks have brought a lot of new beginnings for Dayna Mae Photography. New marketing, new products, new schedules, new clients, and this amazing part of my now, full time career, newbee little Logan. This is him at only 5 days old. Mommy was still in the hospital with C-Section complications, so daddy brought Logan to the studio. They were awesome together- such a good team! I would have never guessed that he was a first time daddy.

Lindsay and Scott- let’s see… they are FUN, they are IN LOVE, and getting married in CANCUN, yup they are pretty much fantastic We had a blast out on the farm that Scott grew up on for this session!  Lindsay was so nervous because Scott is “so timid in front of the camera.” But let’s be honest here.. he was a rockstar! I think the thing that makes these engagement sessions so special, is that I NEVER look at them like a “perfect posed” session. I tell my clients before we meet, “basically, think of your engagement session like a date- you are going to laugh- you are going to have fun- and by the end of our time together, you will leave more in love than before…” I don’t know if that’s because I have my clients lock lips a lot, or if it’s because we are laughing 97% of the time, most of the time it’s at me, but I’ve come to accept that if it makes them feel comfortable in front of the camera!
